Smoke Detectors

A smoke detector is a device that senses smoke, typically as an indicator of fire. Commercial security devices issue a signal to a fire alarm control panel as part of a fire alarm system, while household smoke detectors, also known as smoke alarms, generally issue a local audible or visual alarm from the detector itself or several detectors if there are multiple smoke detectors interlinked.

For early fire warning shall be provided inside rooms and cabins and above false ceilings. They shall be of electronic duel chamber combustion gas type construction, operating on the ionisation principle and capable of detecting both visible and invisible smoke. The detectors shall have preset sensitivity controls and shall be connected to control panels. The entire system shall be wired to indicating 'fault' as well as 'fire' conditions with supervisory circuits to signal component failure.
